Our Maui Calm float facility is ready for shipment!

Earlier this month, Dr. Feinstein had the chance to visit Floataway's factory in England and see all the progress that had been made on constructing the world's first deployable float facility. He was extremely impressed by all the engineering that went into the facility and couldn't believe how beautiful, open, and spacious each of the float rooms felt.

None of this would have been possible without Colin and Toby Stanwell-Smith, the amazing father-son engineering duo behind the construction of Maui Calm. Sadly, Colin recently passed away and his funeral occurred the day before these photos were taken.

Colin was a close friend, and the first person who Dr. Feinstein contacted in the aftermath of the horrible fires on Maui. When Dr. Feinstein told Colin about his vision for the Maui Calm project, Colin immediately accepted the engineering challenge, his grand finale.

Countless hours were spent trying to bring this project to life and we all owe Toby a tremendous debt of gratitude for getting Maui Calm across the finish line, especially after losing his father and mentor of over 23 years.

And now, at long last, the float facility is finally ready to be shipped across the world... from the countryside of Norwich, England all the way to the Westside YMCA in Lahaina! It will be a long journey and we'll be sure to let you know as soon as we know its date of arrival.

Historically, float therapy has been a prohibitively expensive practice. One of the only places that offers it nearby is on the island of Kauai, where they're charging over $200 per float session. Once Maui Calm arrives in Lahaina, the cost per float session will be $0 thanks to a grant from the Maui Strong Fund of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation!

This is the first time ever that float therapy will be provided to an entire community at no cost to them and the people of Maui will soon be able to get some much-needed relief from all the stress and anxiety they have been experiencing these past few years.

Sending a giant mahalo to Toby and the entire Floataway family, including Colin's wife Gini. They have given us the gift of peace, which in today's world is priceless.

And a big toast to Colin... a hui hou my friend! This is not the end, but only the beginning.
